Frango’s Deli is part of the Frango food court on the upper levels in Dundrum Town Centre. The food court boasts a restaurant style counter, a pizza bar and a deli; the deli is the one we usually use simply because we normally just want a wrap, sandwich etc Seating for all three is open plan, with plenty of room for buggies. High seats are available although they really could do with a few more, as they always seem to be all in use, even on a weekday lunchtime.
The deli boasts a wide range of sandwiches – the selection is written up in very nice but barely legible cursive on a large suspended blackboard. I’m by no means blind but even I squint trying to read it. On most visits I end up translating for the auld wans queuing !
The fare on offer is worth it though, I’ve never had a bad order from here. Club sandwiches are extremely generous in size, the selection of choices is excellent, the food is well prepared and they do a lovely range of dessert buns. But the best thing about Frangos has to be its staff, the deli counter is always populated by smiling helpful staff. I’ve had to order pretty strange things, between octogenarians and toddlers and never have they batted an eyelid. They also won’t leave you struggling with a pram and a tray – my pet hate anywhere. Plus when you stand bewildered trying to figure out where the milk is they manage to point out that it is in fact at your elbow, without making it sound like you’re a twit. True story.
I also love the current promotion – if you eat lunch and save your receipt you can get tea/coffee and a cake on the same day for three euro. Twice now we’ve done our shopping with the kids in tow and headed back there for the same. The cakes are fairly sinful.

Out of the many choices in Dundrum for food, this really is an excellent one if you’re looking for a lunch, in an easily accessible place, with good service.
